How soon should I take my child to the dentist?

At Gold River Pediatric Dentistry, we strive to create a pleasant dental experience for your family. Dr. Scott strongly believes that starting your Children early with dental exams, will benefit them on a lifetime of good Oral health habits.

A common question new parents ask is, “How soon should I take my child to the dentist?”

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends, Children should go in for their first oral health checkup within 6 months of the first tooth erupting or by their 1st birthday.

Though it may seem early, this visit is essential to ensure your child doesn’t have any signs of gum issues or tooth decay and that their teeth are erupting and developing properly. Baby teeth can begin emerging as early as six months, so make sure their dental appointment isn’t far behind!
